REMIC Fills Need for Younger Life Insurance Agents

Canadian-based REMIC is now providing the Harmonized Life License Qualification Program (HLLQP), a requirement to become a licensed life insurance agent in Canada REMIC, the Real Estate and Mortgage Institute of Canada, today announced the company has officially received approval to deliver the Harmonized Life License Qualification Program (HLLQP) to aspiring life insurance agents in Canada.  By enrolling in the course, students will receive the necessary preparation and support needed to obtain their life insurance agent’s license.

The life insurance industry is getting older

The life insurance industry as a whole is getting older and is experiencing a lack of new agents entering the industry,” stated Joseph White, president, REMIC.  Based on REMIC’s review of industry research, insurance agencies must start recruiting more new agents, due to a heightened concern that the industry has failed to take proactive steps in replacing upcoming retirees. White continued, “Insurance should be a key part of everyone’s financial planning, but without qualified agents to promote the industry, consumers will miss out on the advice needed to ensure their interests are adequately protected. We’ve entered the industry to train those who want to make this their career. REMIC’s HLLQP course is available to anyone both online and in-class.  Enrolled students will receive practice exams with detailed feedback, as well as 4 attempts at each of the certification exams.  In addition, all HLLQP support team members are subject matter experts and are available to provide support through live chat, by phone, email or in person.

What students need to know

The topics covered in the HLLQP course are based on course manuals approved by the regulator and include four main course components: Life Insurance and Life Insurance Taxation Principles, Segregated Funds, Ethics and Professional Practice, and Accident and Sickness.
